Former ‘Queens’ cast reunites for a new TV series

Three years after their hit MTV show “Queens” ended, Courtney Thorne-Smith, Susan Lucci and Robert Longstreet are back for another show—with a soap opera format.

The actors and their former “Queens” co-star Gabrielle Carteris have teamed up with ABC Studios for “H.R.P.D.” — a drama centering on a crime-fighting, short-order command team of five women. The show has received a straight-to-series order.

In other news from the ‘Queens’ crew, Longstreet and Lucci tweeted that it felt “magical” to work with Carteris again for “H.R.P.D.”

Lyric Hallissey also joined the cast as Fallon Dwyer, the daughter of Lucci’s character from “Queens.” Longstreet plays Sgt. William Dwyer.

Longstreet appeared on NBC’s “Chicago Med” this season as Lt. Brendan Fitzpatrick, who was briefly married to Carteris’ character, Assistant Chief of Police Colleen Dwyer. His credits also include the “CSI” franchise, “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “The Love Boat.”

Thorne-Smith is currently starring on Freeform’s “Baby Daddy.” Lucci can be seen on Investigation Discovery’s “Crime & Punishment.”
